I'm considering getting a Taurus 24/7 40 cal; I heard 40 cal was ruff on guns because of the high pressures. How does the Taurus 24/7 hold up. I have a Ruger P944 that I like but would like a striker fired, polymer frame pistol.

I haven't run a ton of ammo through mine, maybe 700-800 rounds, but no issues what so ever. On this forum I've seen posts where guys have 5000+ rounds through theirs without issues.

I have thousands of rounds through mine. No major problems whatsoever. All I'll be doing is replacing the guide rod spring next week.

The gun should be made to withstand the pressure of a 40. Only problem I could see would be puuting a +p round through a gun not designed for it. Just my 2 cents.

I've seen posts of 2000+ rounds through a 40 MilPro, so I would think the heavier 24/7 should be okay.

I bought the 24/7 in 40 S&W because I really liked the feel of the gun and I wanted a larger caliber than the 9mm PT 92 that I had. I've only run 130 rounds through mine. All were flawless. So far I have no regrets at all about my purchase.

Just my 2¢
all but the price of ammo.........lol

For a specific gun it's a good idea to go to the specific gun forums and collect data from them. Ask the actual owners,do searches, and read the old and new threads at these places.

If I want to find out about Ruger for example I go to the two main Ruger forums.
For Taurus products that would be Taurus Talk at MSN or www.taurusarmed.net.
