I was looking at my Ruger SR40 last night, and a thought occurred to me: with all of the fuss with 1911s concerning flat vs. arched mainspring housings, why hasn't some 1911 manufacture done the same thing as Ruger (i.e., the reversible back strap on the SR series). In fact, why hasn't Ruger done the same thing with its new 1911? Would there have to be a redesign because of the grip safety?

Funny you should post this...I was just drooling over this pistol featured in this month's American Rifleman that has changeable backstraps and grip thickness to fully customize the grip and fit.

Yeah CZ, I just read about that in AR too. FN does make some nice handguns. I traded my FNP40 for a rifle, but I wouldn't mind having one again....
