I have decided that I want a new gun. I want a stainless steel 45 ACP 1911 with a long slide. I've been looking around a little bit today and I found two that might fit my bill. One is a Kimber stainless Target and the other is an STI Trojan. The Trojan is basically an entry level ($1200-$1300) 1911 for STI. I can buy a Kimber for just under $1,000. I have four kimber's but I have not owned an STI.

I'm looking for information or advice from anyone who has one of those two guns or as another manufacturers long slide model. I have shot the long slide and I like the additional weight to the front of the barrel.

Any suggestions, advice, or recommendations are welcome, thanks.

I was sure hoping that somebody had some long slide experience. I've narrowed it down and my final choice will be between Kimber and Springfield Armory. They both make a stainless steel long slide and they're both in the same price neighborhood.
