Stainless or Black?

The age old debate...go Stainless or Black.

I just parted ways with an old black PT92. I would like to repurchase a new one. I can never decide the small things like Stainless or plain Black.

What did you do? What do you prefer...?

Dunno why, probably personal quirk but I like automatics in black and revolvers in stainless.

I like stainless, does not show holster ware as bad.

Why would you want to get rid of the one you have? I'd personally have one of each.
Stainless, for rust resistance and clean ability.

And maybe just a little :bling:

Stainless or duotone in that platform.
The matte black finish on current production PT 92s is not a particularly strong or attractive finish. If you want a new production gun, I would unhesitantly suggest stainless. If you're looking to buy one used, both the stainless and the blued models are pretty cool, but my preference is still slightly towards stainless.

While I've never carried mine and probably never will, I went with the DuoTone:

I like 'em both, and own both. No real preference for either.
I like black in the Model 92/99 series. Just my opinion.
As long as it's stainless blackened or not, I like it! Pretty much a necessity for a carry gun here in southern AZ. ;)

Definitely Stainless! The Black Oxide finish on Taurus firearms is neither durable nor corrosion-resistant and will wear off of a firearm very quickly from everyday handling.

Even if you gotta have it in black, you're better off getting it in Stainless Steel then Duracoating it in black, which wouldn't even require much prep since the surface is already bead-blasted, giving the finish a surface to adhere to.

The real question is what color do you want the aluminum frame. My PT-92 AFS has a parkerized finish on the frame and a matte stainless slide.
I prefer Black/Blue over stainless. I do have a couple stainless firearms, but only because I got such a good deal I could over look the stainless.
I own both and have for years. After all this time, I still can't decide!
I bought my 92 used and settled for what I could find. I like stainless and blued both. I take care of guns. I've owned the same .22 rifle for 67 years, never a speck of rust. Two 60 year old shotguns...same thing. Durability of a finish does not bother me.
