so my speed loader is loaded.i go to push it into the pistol, and can only go in almost half way before resistance...........am i doing something wrong?? i got the 36-A speed loader for small frame Taurus models...........

Did you change grips? I put Houges on a .38 special and dropping them in was a little tighter, but still doable. Even if you have to let the cartridges slip on in, it is still faster than a handload. I'm going to look into speed strips.

yeah i put Hogue grips on it...........i was wondering if that was the issue............whats a speed strip?

thanks BigSkiff............looking now...........my other question is this.. do some of the other speed loaders work better with the Hogue? like the maxfire or the 5star

There is no need for the cartridges to go all the way home before you release them. I just get them started, say down to the brass then release giving the gun a bit of a shake to allow them to fall in to place.
