Its Houston and it really was a ice day or two. Snow, Ice and Houston dont go in the same sentence since its so rare round these parts. So when the news says stay home because of ice covered roads next two days. You simply stay home. I love Hou but we just cant drive on ice roads worth a dam. Brokeness and Boredom set in and I got a brilliant plan to stain my wood Wasr AK furniture Plum Purple. Looked around my garage and found Cherry Oak from the last time and 1/2 can of classic grey. I went for the latter. Disasembled sanded down to white wood and started staining few coats let it dry over nite. Next day applied the gloss poly finish and done. This time next year itll be Plum for shure. Its cheap CAI wood furniture they put on all their AKs Foreign and US made So it dont bother me if I mess it up. Ill have reason to by some real Russian or Bulgarian wood furniture.

I don't like the paint on the mag but the rest of it looks great. Good job.

Wait, what the... I can't see anything. If I read your post correctly, your AK is now grey and black, right? Stealth colors. Well, it worked. You should be able to sling that sucker over your shoulder and go anywhere, no one will see it. ;)

"Attempt at humor" - off.

Very nice. I like it, ya done good.
Looks good. Is that stain or paint?
Minwax Stain
Looks nice! Snow day projects often end up for the worse.
I think it looks good.
Thank goodness it doesn't snow here- I might have spray painted my D-28.... (That's the headstock in my avatar...)

Im a Master at choping stuff up. Lol
I'm a Mahindra Tractor dealer... Houston was shut down because of 1/4" of snow / ice... really? We are open with 26+ inches of snow.. come on.. be real
Did you soak the wood pieces in some kind of solvent for a while first, to get all the residual oils out of there? Just curious how the paint will hold up on the wood.
