Can anybody tell me the practical meaning of .170, .180, .190, etc.?

Robby is corect in that the measurement is taken in inches such as .170". That would be the height of your sights. Two ways to do this: 1. Measure the sight on your 24/7 .45 or if you don't have it find one in a gun shop and measure it. 2. Call Taurus and ask them the height.

Or if someone here would be kind enough to measure the sights on their 24/7 Pro .45 that would work also.

Sight height is measured from the top of the slide to the top of the sight.

I saw a bunch of sights for sale on eBay, some of which might work on the front of my .46.
