So I was at the Electric Company to pay our monthly bill and there is a Conway City LEO there ahead of me.
After we left the building I asked him what ammo they carry.
He said they use Federal Law Enforcement ammo, not available to civilians.
I told him I wanted to know 'cause I'm waiting on my CWP and I wanted to know what would be a good ammo to use.
Then he asked me what gun I have.
Told him a Taurus 24/7 9mm long slide.
He said he has a Taurus PT140 at home!

Went to Wally World to get some Federal Premium 135gr HydroShock, last box was sold.

MANY but NOT all police supply stores will sell the ammo to almost anybody.

I am a deputy, but I know people who but their SD ammo from police supplies stores.

FYI at a police supply store yesterday I purchased the Federal LE HST load in .45 for $23.99 (50 rounds). They also had it at lower prices in .40 and 9mm.

It depends ...

Sometimes it is only the packaging and price. Other times it is a different load and/or bullet. In some states with rigid ammo control (bans on civilian carry or possession of HP ammo), it makes a clear notation that it is improper to sell to civilians, and only can be sold to LE.
