Remember, Taurus is in the process of relocating. I bet they are cutting ridiculous deals to clear out inventory so they don't have to move it.

If you think the quality is there they are not junk as far as I am concerned.

That is better than a pawn shop find.

Read the ad again. Its not 2 G2's for $289, its buy a PT111 for $289 and get a Rossi RS22 for free, or G2c for $289 and get a Heritage Rough Rider for free. It is kinda' confusing the way Academy has listed them but if you slide down the ad it becomes a bit clearer.

I don't think we've won. They changed their focus

Now, they just want all the guns gone.

They got rid of the old Black Talon bullets. All guns to them are Saturday Night Specials.

The term fell out of vogue when it became publicized it was taken from the old song, "Bucktown Saturday Night." The song used many racially offensive terms.

It's called a 'loss leader'.

They take a slight loss on an item to get you into the store and expect to make it up with other items (like ammo, targets, hearing protection, holsters, spare mags, ...) that would 'round out' the purchase, or, to make you more likely to shop there again. After all, repeat business is where profits are made.

Academy's gun prices are usually pretty high. I go there to browse for ammo, because they have a good selection at ok prices and I don't have to stand in line to ask the employee to help me find something he has no clue about, like at many dedicated gun stores.
