What do you think the chances are that Crimson Trace laser grips for the S&W model 10 will work on my Taurus Model 80? I think the odds are good but I could be wrong. Does anybody know better?

Funny you should ask that question, just this morning I was trying all my extra S&W grips to my Taurus 441 frame...and none of them even came close to fitting.

Doubt very much you will find a match in what you hope to fit.

Tex, You actually tried to fit CT grips for a model 10 S&W on a Taurus Model 80? What where the issues with the fit? The Model 80 looks so much like a S&W Model 10 it makes one wonder. How much modification would it take?

No, I tried to fit a Pachmayr off my model 10 to my M66. Part of the problem is the location of the screw, leaf spring vs coil, just different. Never tried the M80. Both are square butts and might could have worked, but for the screw location. Hell, I really wanted a Hogue on it anyway, LOL.

I'm think'n a hogue is what's going to happen to this one as well. Was thinking a laser would be cool for the wife. Guess I'll have to buy her a new gun...

Anybody know if the S&W 10 grips would come close to fitting the Taurus m80?

I have an older model 80 and a newer model 66 and both grip frames look the same to me, except the 66 has a big pin pressed through it at the bottom (which can easily be removed).
