You know I was actually going to post that as well -

I am about to order one from Kentucky Gun as well - I cannot believe that at that price point, the Rossi's are not matte but satin stainless finished!

Kentucky Gun is the best retailer for guns for sure - free shipping, no sales tax - and they have layaway option if you want it which works great -

$368 is a steal, for a satin stainless finished, 6-shot 357 - as I put in your other thread, I personally can't see why the frames would be different in the grip area and I imagine the Taurus small frame grips should all fit (it looks like they use a screw like the old models for the grip but that doesnt make the frame any different, the new small frame Taurus's can use the grip screw in the middle or the roll pin at the bottom corner the same)

I got my RP63 today. I don’t have a Taurus to which to compare it, but I’d be interested in wood grips. The Rossi rubber grips fit my hand well, but they’re fugly. Brazil is known for its hardwoods. Maybe if these take off Rossi will market some sweet grips for it.

FYI—Colt D frame leather fits.

I thought Hogue had some, but not sure of models, Brownells usually surprises me, Saw something on Ebay kinda expensive.

Taurus® small frame guns are round butt whereas Rossi® small frames are square butt.
Dang I jumped the gun. Found and bought a 711 instead. LOL.

I'm not sure about that. From pics the frames look larger but I hope I'm wrong I'm really looking forward to a comparison between the RP63 and a small frame Taurus.

How is the fit/finish? I am also floored that it is satin instead of matte (like the 856 Executive) - If you have a sec, pop the grip off and send a pic of the frame - in the videos for the RP63 the Taurus reps do say it is a 'round butt' frame, the RP64 and RP66 are square butt -

Hogue has Taurus 'medium/large' frame grips in Round Butt as well as Square Butt, maybe its a medium frame round butt grip -

I will. I’ve had them off, and it’s a round butt. The butt is also weirdly poorly finished. Overall, the fit and finish are excellent, easily as good as a new Taurus and you’d have to really do some examining to find where it’s not quite as a good as a Smith. I don’t mind machine marks under the grip, it just looks funny with the grips off seeing the contrast.

Exciting to hear- I really probably will have to get one - I don't need another revolver but the value is immense for the price - I am curious to see if different sight options, grips will be offered in time from Rossi/Taurus

After a phenomenal fit/finish experience with my model 92 purchase in late summer I would have no issues owning a Rossi revolver - its basically like you said comparable to a Smith, and a newer Colt King Cobra at 1/2 to 1/3 the price

I just got off chat with a rep named Veronica at Rossi. The grips do not interchange with any other model. Rossi is working on getting wood grips made and available through their online store.
I didn’t need another revolver either, yet here I am…

Well if they come out looking as nice as the Taurus grips made by Altamont this is great! I will set one on layaway at Kentucky Gun and by the time I pick it up maybe they will have them available

And the deal is gone boys and girls, for now (of course as I logged on to check out just now) - I signed up on the notify list when they get some more in but KyGunCo is out -

Post up some pics when you get a chance @daocutter42 - or text/email to me I'd love to see how it looks in person

I'll either wait to get one of these or a 4" Tracker 627 (or both which is what I'm sure will happen)

I’ll get pics up by tomorrow. I found mine at Smoky Mountain Guns and Ammo, which is local to me. I bought the first they sold, and they had a few. I got it from them for 399 before tax, and of course paid no shipping. I don’t know what they charge on line or to ship.

I love SMGA! Bought my Rossi 92 from them and a Taurus 856 Executive over the summer - Did you buy from Knoxville or Sevierville? I may give them a call but it looks like best deals are $380 shipped, from Tombstone Tactical as well as Sportsmans Outdoor SS
