Thanks for posting, holy cow!!!!thats lots of revolvers for Taurus/Rossi to try and fix. Hope folks out there get the notice, since many Rossi owners are not necessarily gun guys and won;t be exposed to the recall notice.

Interestingly, I got the notice of the safety recall via an email.

Not exactly sure how Rossi got my e-mail addy as I've never owned a Rossi Product.

Same here, but my neighbor Lady had bought one a few years back, registered, but got no notice. Entered her SN and it's a recall. I filled out her paperwork for R351-2 today - Rossi says 6-8 weeks or so before they get the logistics worked out.

EDIT: Even more puzzled - they sent notice to me using two different email addy's - nether that I use on gun sites.

My 461 is part of the safety recall - got an email from them this afternoon. Went to the website and registered the serial number. Now just waiting for the shipping instructions and label.

Oh well, not critical, still have my daily carry PT111 G2 and others in the rotation.

I sold off my Rossi 462 a few years back to a gun store for another Taurus pistol so will not get a e-mail.

I did so like the 462, but a 9 x19 pistol caught my eye.

I got an email notice but I have never bought a Taurus® (Braztech™) affiliated revolver. Both the wife's and mine are from the Interarms® era. Go figure...

I just checked my serial number.

I dodged a bullet, "sweetness" is not affected!

Just a warning: Be sure and plug your number into the website that Qwiks draw linked to. My two Braztech era Rossi's didn't start with the actual letters listed in the notice, but they were my second letters in my serial # prefix (they both have two letter prefixes) yet the website says I still have to send my guns in. Example: one of my number prefixes is "HW" but still has to be sent in (according to the website.)

I imagine this is a part batch problem in the hammer block system. I'm glad I lucked out as I was dreading the idea of sending mine in for any reason...

I have two 462s. One is blued from 2004 and not subject to recall. The other is polished stainless from 2016 and is subject to the recall. I am not sure that I want to send it back. I'll think about it.

I'd be more afraid of getting a replacement gun. Mine is one of those gems.

#26 ·
Yeah! Mine is not covered by the recall.

Not enough information from Taurus on what they plan on doing with the guns. I want to know what the plan is before I send them my Rossi. No telling how long they might keep it before deciding what to do.

Saying the same. Afterall, look at all the PT145 Millenium Pro's people never got back and only offered $200.00 or a 9mm. I don't go around dropping guns! I also don't give them back to manufacturers for less than they're worth. Still have my PT145 Pro.

got the recall notice on the 17th.. My 972 is part of the this.. I called that day to ask about turned around time.. As expected was not given an answer.. It took Taurus 4 months to get my pt111 back to me.. RIDICULOUS... Chances are I will send my in at some point..but Deer season in quickly approaching and this is my primary whitetail gun right now.. Soon as I find some sort of replacement I will consider sending mine in.. Maybe a 300 BLK pistol would be fun.

For the record I did *not* get an email, and I am certain that Taurus *does* have my email address. They must have bought an email list of likely owners from somebody. The NRA maybe?
