I agree, with a hammer nose mounted firing pin snap caps are highly recommended. You can make your own using unprimed .38 cases. Just fill the primer hole flush with the rim full of heavy duty silicon seal or hard setting gasket compound. Let it completely dry and trim off any excess with a razor blade.
Or buy a set of A-zoom and fire away. No matter what type of snap caps you use treat the revolver just like it contains live rounds; every time!
