Took my new gun to the range today. Fired from 15 to 25 feet. No problems of any kind; it shoots a little high. It was fun to shoot

Sure like to get some chronograph data on one of these 2" guns. I just go on what I've read. If I get my hands on one in the future, I'll fire some of my loads over it to compare with 3 and 4" guns.
For the money they are good guns. I've got a 971, 522 (I think that's the #) and a 461. They've all been real good.
461 owner here too..can't beat it...I've tried.....
I have the 461 in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster. a match made in heaven ;D
Hello everyone. Newbie here. I took my pair of 462s to the range and they both shoot dead-on. I'd say they're every bit as accurate as the expensive revolvers I've owned in the past.
I've been eyeballing a 462 to put in the center console of the wife's SUV. She is much more comfortable with wheelguns, than semiautos.
I really like the looks of the 461, thanks for all of the great information; I will definitely add one to the collection in the near future.
Short of getting a used Colt Dick Special or one of the other offspring of that type, Rossi is the only one making 6 shooters small enough to conceal.
The K frame like 6 shooters are nice, but the slightly more bulk makes then harder to hide.
My 3" 66 is not a lot bigger than my SP101 just in a side by side comparison. I have Hogues on both and the 66's hogue is bigger, bulkier. It's only a few ounces heavier. But, both guns are heavier than the little Rossi. It is a rather unique size for a six shooter for sure.
I was surprised to find that my model 461 shot just as well (dare I say maybe better) than my G26 out to about 15 yards. For the price the accuracy really amazed me. I have started carrying it sometimes and it is fairy comfortable for a steel six shot.
With my old eyes I had to paint the front sight of my 461.
It shoots dead on at 7 yards using .38 130 gr. Remington FMJ.

I'm looking at the Desantis Nemesis website and don't see any Rossi's in there model list. Which model did you get to fit your 461? I have a 462 and wear cargo pants most days, so I have big pockets and would like to find a nice pocket holster for it
Ok, here is what I had to do to figure out the holster size. I looked at other guns, that were 6 rd, 357 then looked for those models listed in the makers gun lists for holsters. I never could get a Fobus for it, and finally got my leather one coming from Don Hume. One for a Taurus 856, 65, and a couple others should fit.
I love mine too. Great shooter, light and packs a punch.
Just picked up one of these. Good fit and finish. Can't wait to get it to the range. If you've got a part number for that holster, let me know. Also looking for wood grips, anybody know if they're available?

Don Hume, or GunnersAlley is my source for holsters, that do not cost an arm and a leg. I ordered a high rise, muzzle at the belt line, for both my PT111 and my Rossi 461. Don Hume First Agent (H710), however they have many other options on both sites. I only paid, $58 for two holsters. The one for the Rossi is due to be delivered this next week. It was on a 3 to 5 week order time. I wanted two holsters that carry identical, so I ordered accordingly for where I wanted to carry, just behind my hip bone. The one for the PT111 fits great, and carrys just like I wanted.
Thanks, I'll look into that one further. Actually was looking for a holster for a few other peices as well, and looking to upgrade from the Uncle Mike's stuff.

I have a 971 Rossi 2". I brooke the rear sight. My Gunsmith couldn't find a Rossi so he put a S&W adjustable Sight on. It shoots good at 21 feet and 30 feet but with my Drugstore Byfocoles I cant see the target too good when I have the Sights in the magnifying part of the lense. I'm sure it will shoot good for someone who can see the Target. It's all so much better when I shoot outside.
