The meaning of that cryptic title is that after shooting several hundred rounds through my beloved Mosin Nagant the past few weeks, my right middle finger was painful with any pressure applied to where it hits the rear of the Mosin trigger guard. I must have been allowing the Mosin to bang that finger during recoil and it bruised the bone or something. There's no swelling or discolor of the finger.

After several days pondering how to pad either my finger or the trigger guard I just solved the problem by sticking six layers of double sided foam tape (2mm thick) to the curved back of the trigger guard followed by a layer of black duct tape. It works great!
