Rifle Bipods

Any suggestions? Looking for a bipod for my AR-10 in .308. Would prefer something with adjustable height and that folds up out of the way. Looking for the right mix of quality and price. In other words something decent that does not cost an arm or leg. Also not something cheap that is a waste of money.

Check out Harris bipods. They are not cheap however.

What he said.

I have an adjustable Harris that I bought for a 10/22 build 20 years ago that just moves between guns as the need arises.
I have a Caldwell and a UTG that mount to a picatinny rail or a sling adapter with a rail. They are not as robust as the Harris but I use them with 223, 6.8 and 30-06 mostly from a bench.

The legs fold fold and adjust in height. One has a dwivel head - one does not. Not digging in the drawer downstairs tonight. :)
They are far lighter than the Harris - the leg springs are internal. That may be good or not but they are not $15 eBay junk either. I hit sub moa at 100 yds with them.

They are not combat tools but they do well for me in rifle bullseye FWIW.

I think this is the UTG bipod I have. Works just fine on the bench. I use a shorter mag, 10 or 20 rds. shooting from the bench. I have had this bipod for 5-6 years with moderate use.

I have a couple, I have a Versa-pod and a UTG. The Versa-pod is nice because it is robust and can be mounted on several of my rifles that have the adapter installed. I also sprang for the Versa-pod adapter that fits on a standard AR bayonet lug. The UTG is not as heavy duty, but is much cheaper and mounts on a rail. The UTG seems to be a decent bipod, and was a lot cheaper.

Vote number 3 for UTG. I got one a while back and have only one complaint - I should have gotten a longer bipod.

I got this one: https://smile.amazon.com/UTG-Tactic...UTF8&qid=1527650966&sr=8-7&keywords=utg+bipod
but should have grabbed this one: https://smile.amazon.com/UTG-Tactic...TF8&qid=1527650966&sr=8-10&keywords=utg+bipod

I keep looking at Tri-pods. like this one. s://www.amazon.com/BOG-POD-RLD-3-Shooting-Stick-Tripod/dp/B001G0MPKQ

I'm thinking about uneven ground while coyote hunting, This might not fit your needs but I just thought i would mention it.

I have an inexpensive bi-pod on a 22-250 and like it.

The second link is the one I have been looking at. I may just get that one and see how it does. - Thanks.

Make sure that whichever bipod you pick it is the right height. Maybe even go to your range and check seat height, bench height, etc.

If you have a pic rail at the six position, I'd recommend this one.

Inexpensive, durable and the QD mount means you can swap it between rifles effortlessly.

It's a little heavy, but QD means you don't have to care about that.
Leapers/UTG used to be pot metal junk (IMHO) - they have made a great effort to be a strong, modern brand in recent years from what I have seen and purchased.

They are not ‘dead Sexy’ BUT they are well made components that fill the bill for the needs of modern firearms accessories.

Just my opinion but if you don't want to spring for the price of a Harris then go with one of the UTG's....
