Well today pushed me over the 5,000 round mark for my pt1911. Bought it almost a year ago and its been great. I can honestly say the only failures I've had with it thus far were my fault. Either incorrectly assembling the series 80 components and causing light primer strikes or some bad reloads. Other than that its been extremely reliable. Even the factory mags were still going strong until a month ago when one finally broke after hitting the ground during a reload.

That being said the trigger is no longer as crisp as it used to be and it seems like the grip safety has to be pressed farther in than I remember in order to get it to disengage.

So my question is has anyone gone about replacing the fireing components on there pt1911.

I'm considering a cylinder and slide setup with a 3.5lb pull.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

I replaced the hammer on mine with a Wilson Combat, but it was mostly to get rid of the factory style hammer.
