If you can change the oil on your Geo Metro you can do this. Just watch out for the slide safety detent ball & spring. Have a magnet handy if they wander off. And this vid is also for the 709 which basically has the same innards.
You're absolutely right Bob. I think, if I remember correctly, the 24/7 breaks down the same way. I have a bag of those little ball bearings somewhere around here. I have a magnet ring I wear when I disassemble stuff, it's actually worked and caught some stray balls and springs.If you can change the oil on your Geo Metro you can do this.
