Hey I went by Academy and they had one of these. $1100.00 smackers but it sure was nice.

Anybody got one?? I had to force myself out of the store due to an upcoming M1A purchase next week.

I bought one of the first plain jane models a couple years ago when they first came out. The trigger's not as good as the PT1911 but good enough since I got it for $599.

That's a fine lookin' 1911!

I've never owned a Remington handgun, but I swear by Remington rifles and shotguns. :rating10:

I've seen a couple at primary gun stores (Not Pawn Shops, etc) and the $1100 price tag is due to the capped off threaded barrel end (ie., supressor ready). I saw two of these side by side and one with the supressor read barrel and the other with a standard, non-threaded barrel and the non-threaded model was ~ $650-750. I ALMOST bought one myself.
My LGS had one but it was a little lower priced it seem to me it was in the $950.00 range and had a Colt 1911-SS at the same price. But when he offered me the Remington 1911R1S for $695.00 I had to have it. It is one fine shooter....

I have a Remington R1 Enhanced Stainless. I paid $860 for it from Fernwood Armory out of Ohio (link below). You can get the blued version from Buds for about $790, so I would not pay $1100. My R1 Enhanced Stainless is a very nice 1911. Fit and finish is high quality and the pistol shoots like a 1911 should. If you are looking for a mid-level 1911, I would definitely recommend it.
