I have been a Taurus proponent but I can no longer
recommend the 24/7 to friends without adding a caveat.

I called 10 days ago to order some parts.
3 striker springs and 3 slide caps.
The service counter told me they were in stock and that
I should allow 7-10 days for processing.
I called this morning and was told they are not in stock
and it would be another 2-4 weeks.
The 24/7 is a fine weapon, but, the parts supply is horrible.

I broke the slide cap while removing it and need a new one.
I'm planning to sell the pistol and have a buyer lined up and waiting.
I like to keep parts on hand and ordered the striker springs and
extra caps for my other 24/7s.

This truly sucks.

That happens alot with imported firearms. There are other brands that have similar troubles with parts supply.

Your Pistol will work without that Plastic Slide Endcap. I think it's a bit of an over-reaction to sell the gun because of that. The spare parts supply problem should work itself out over time. Actually, there have been problems with parts of other things not being available, due to higher shipping and fuel costs, going nuts at this time. It could just be our current World Transport Problems.

What I would do is courteously E-Mail their new USA President and let him know that the Spare Parts Supply for the 24/7 is a problem and needs tending to!

I've not needed any parts so far (knock on wood!) and wholeheartedly recommend 24/7's, having a Standard 24/7 Pro 9mm and a 24/7 OSS .45. I love shooting mine! Those who have shot mine at our range have been very impressed. The Standard 24/7 Pro 9mm is a real crowd pleaser! ;D

No, I'm not selling because of that.
I'm selling it to fund another purchase.
I had the sale lined up prior to the cap breaking.

I lifted it just a little too much when I removed it and
cracked the little tab that holds the cap in place.
Yes, it will function fine without it, I just got back from running
another 100 rds thru it.

My comments were made out of frustration because I had
a buyer lined up for it and now I will most likely lose out
on the sale due to a delay from Taurus.

Yes,an email to the Taurus execs may enlighten them, however,
it does nothing to fix the short term situation.
I tried to get the CS rep to have my parts sent Priority from Brazil
but had no luck.

It should also be noted that Firearms, Gun Parts, Ammunition, and some other Firearms related items, MUST go thru BATFE inspection before being allowed to enter the USA and they are typically not very quick about it, so Priority Shipment would not have been possible! I believe that Sea Turtles have been able to outrun BATFE Inspectors!

Now, don't you feel safer, knowing how hard your Government is working? Ha! :(

Dude, chill.
Your gun will work with out the cap.
Are you running thousands of rounds a day through the thing that you need to have the parts handy?
Call Miami tomorrow, ask for a C/S supervisor and explain it to him.
I am sure you can get this resolved quickly.

I gladly recommend the 24/7 every chance I get. My .40 S&W 24/7 has thousands of rounds through it with zero issues. And Justus---your issue is not really that serious but I do understand where you're coming from.

I'm with NYPD on this one.
The C/S dept does bite but you can get what you want, ask for a supervisor.
Take names and keep logs of the calls you make to them.
Only ONCE in all the years I have been a Taurus customer, did I have to send a firearm back.
I feel your pain, but you can avail yourself of becoming a hemorrhoid to them and get what you need.
Just have to move up the food chain and INSIST.
After all, the old saying is "The Customer is always right"

And yes, Bulldog, I like to have common repair parts on hand for every firearm that I own.
Parts availability is important to me.
This situation explains why.
I was told that parts were in stock and I would see them in 10 days.
10 days later, they're not in stock and it would be another 2-4 weeks.

That's the purpose of my post,
Based on what I know now, I'd recommend a 24/7 but make sure
the person knows about the current parts and CS issues.

When you own an uncommon, foreign ANYTHING, these problems rear their ugly heads. I owned a Saab for a few years and had similar issues with parts.

I also had this problem with a domestic motorcycle, a Buell, the red-headed Harley stepchild that dealers did not want to stock parts for.

That being said, the 24/7 is a fine gun. I like my 9mm and my FIL liked it enough to get one in .40.
