Recall

Hello everyone, it has been some time since my last post as live has been crazy. I have a question. I just bought a new 605 a couple weeks ago and the salesman told me Taurus had a big recall. I did not know anything about it. what info I did find listed some of the pistols I have. 27/7 Pro 9mm, Mil Pro PT111 ,Mil Pro PT145. the 111 is my wife's C.C. and 145 is mine. what do I need to know about my guns? are they unsafe? thanks

In my opinion no,but others will chime in......................
I guess unsafe depends on who you talk to. Good news, no revolvers are involved in the recall. Only the old pre-G2 24/7 Pro and Mil Pro guns for the most part.

There is plenty of information on this site and other places that tell what the lawsuit is about. You should be able to find it easily.
so I have checked and I have 3 that fall under the settlement. what has the outcome of the ones sent back? is it something they repair or are they replacing them?. mine have now problems other then the recall.
If you send in any guns on the recall. they will return a new G2. Any replacement gun will be a G2. If you choose the cash value it will depend on how many guns are turned in. The max will be $200.00.
There are several threads on the subject and several people are upset with the whole process. It is what it is.

My opinion I am keeping my PT-145 and it will stay in my carry rotation playing the same role as it always has. It is not my primary carry gun. It is my go to for road trips. Read up as much as you care to on the issues and others peoples opinions and make the decision that you feel is right for you.

I'm with you, as I don't see a 145 in the G2 line up I also will keep my PT145. I did send in my wifes PT111 and tomorrow I am sending my 24/7 Pro 9mm stainless. I hope to get a stainless back....we will see.
maybe its me but why would one choose this option? seems like you could get the new one and sell it as new to the FFL.
I glad no revolvers being recalled. I just got my first one ever for Christmas. its the 605. man I love it shooting the 357 will wear on the old wrist.

If proper firearm handling skills are used, in my opinion there should be no problems.
If you are prone to dropping your firearms, or pulling on the trigger while setting your manual safety then
by all means get rid of the firearm.
If you have functioning brain cells and don't see yourself doing any of what I listed, then I wouldn't worry
about it until they break, then send them in...................
I wouldn't send in the 145. I'd also keep the 24/7 that you have. The only replacement would be another PT111G2 as the 24/7 line has been discontinued.

It's good to see you back. Don't wait so long between post.

ahhmmmm--uhhhh-ahm!
drop by your local FFL shop and ask them exactly how much they will give you for a used (Remember now ) it is used because the Federal paperwork has YOU as the owner, heck just ask them what they will give you for a new gun of that model.
that is IF you can find a FLL gun shop that will even want to buy it.
not bashing just stating the way it is around here, most Gun shops have quit selling/stocking or trading for a Taurus brand firearm in the last couple of years.
usually you can find them in the pawn Shops for sale though, that is the pawn shops that also sale guns.

Same here. Taurus revolver: Let's haggle. Taurus semi-auto: No bueno.
