Hi im kinda new here in the forums, been just a lurker for the past weeks. anyway I wanted to change my 3 dot sight config however the rear allen screws ( watch out pun coming up) screws the hell out of me. I have tried using a soldering iron, a pocket torch to loosen it up but to no avail it still wont budge. Any advice is greatly appreciated. P.S. i don't have a dremel tool so grinding it off isnt a good idea and no I cannot bring it the to gunsmith since we have a long pointless Election related GUN BAN here in the Philippines.

Hello and welcome to the forum. From everything I've read the heat trick should do the trick. I saw one thread in another firearm forum that indicates that you need to get the Loctite up to 480 degrees. Good luck and others will be along to weigh in on the problem!

Hello and welcome.

I've changed out two sets of sights with one being fairly easy and the other, well let's just say it didn't work as planned. I used the same technique on both (lots of heat) but the set screw on the rear sight of my second PT145 stripped out.

If you have access to a small screw extractor that's what I used to get that stripped screw out. It took only seconds to remove it.

But.....I am by no means an expert so hopefully someone with much more experience will give more and better advice.

Good luck to you!
