I am getting SOOOOOOO PO'd with it!
Nice day, 70 degrees, very light wind, perfect for the rifle shootout.
So I load up with 10 rounds of Remington Thenderbolt.
I totally cleaned the rifle and bore last night.
This is bench rest fore end only (Rule #6 of the rifle shootout).
Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. pop.
Guess which hole is the "pop".
Can't ANY ammo company make some .22LR that is CONSISTENT from shot to shot?
Darn frustrating to see a nice tight group like this be ruined by a wimpy cartridge!

Unfortunately, none of the stuff on those list can be bought locally, except for a few like SuperX, Remington Target and High Velocity, and CCI Blazer.
And those are towards the bottom of the list for accuracy.
Mail order is the only option, and I would have to buy way too many rounds ($$$$) to justify the shipping cost, so not an option.

I need to chrono the stuff and find out what FPS the normnal rounds are vs. the "poppers".

Just for fun I looked for the Lapua Midas+, 2nd on the list for 50 yards.
$18/50 rounds, $15 shipping up to 10 boxes. $205. Nope, can't do it.

I've had really good luck with CCI Mini Mags and Stingers, as well as Remington Yellow Jackets. More expensive, but pretty darn consistent.
