Took the day and went to t the Range. I very well could have shot the best group with a pistol ever I was shooting from a rest testing new loads. HS-6 120 grain 9mm round nose bullet using my CZ 85 did very good and also got good grouping with Tite Group 230 grain 45 ACP it still needs a little more work but it's close tested out a few more new loads but all still needs some work but I'm in the ball park
Go to the VA tomorrow and will pick up a pound of HP-38 on the way home. I should has a new 230 grain RN RCBS Mold waiting on my return. All in all I had a good range day

Testing days at the range can be a lot of fun and productive too! I haven't done any loads for testing in too long. I need to change that.

I like hearing about good results from HS6. I'm working up loads for 45LC with it and I've never used that powder before. Might be my new go-to if it all works as well as I'm hearing. Seems to be almost as universal as Universal or Titegroup.

ME either!
but I am fine with that actually.
most of my loads remain constant as I am happy with the results.
so kind of the same projectiles, same powder (s) and same calibers.
I do every once in a while do some creative stuff with left over odd ball numbers of projectiles like light projectiles at speed of light from the 38 Super or 10 MM but thats just fun stuff and gives my neighbor the opportunity to hold my cold beer for me..

I load a bunch of HS-6, I load the 9MM, 38 Super, 10 MM and 45 acp with it, also use Accurate #5 for same application but haven;t used any Accurate in a while now.
good powder for me, especially if I keep it kind of brisk, down loaded and it starts getting a tad dirty it seems.

I just enjoy working up new loads but also like shooting my known loads that work. I picked up a bottle of HP-38 today I've never used it but someone wrote on a thread that W-231 and HP-38 come out of the same spigot and I've been looking for W-231 for months so I thought I'd pick some up and try it out. I noticed on a thread What is your favorite 45 Cal load. I saw a lot of people used HP-38 so I think it's a good call.

To me anytime spent at the range is time well spent.

I can't argue with that. My pistol shooting has come a long way from the day I brought the PT 840 home I'm far from good but I keep working on it. My next trip I'm going to start drawing from my IWB holster some each time I go and start working on that maybe Friday after I get some of that HP-38 loaded up if not I have plenty of others to choose from
