Range Report On My New 24/7 G2 .40 & Review

Hello, Well hopefully not to be long winded, I Originally purchased the 24/7 G2 with thoughts that it would be a little lighter for CCW here in Wisconsin than my Springfield XD Tactical that I had been carrying. It wasn't as slim as I thought it would be and only about and inch shorter over all in length. But I could have searched the technical data a little better and found that all out I suppose. In any case I picked it up took it home and cleaned it and went to the range. I adjusted the sights and got it shooting within 2" at 30' (or 10 yrd), after getting back home, since I am a gunsmith I removed or tweeked everything about the gun that I didnt like. Im not partial to the mag release on both sides cuz mu trigger finger was riding against it and that made me nervous that I might prematurely release the mag under a hightened situation. So I milled down the release button on the right side and curved it to match the grip, (you can see in the pic). Then I lighted the striker pin spring with a reduced power spring and polished the trigger connector bar where it curves in the rear that allows the trigger bar to drop away from the striker pin. MUCH MUCH better now !! Trigger doesnt feel gritty as you near the point of firing. It only took me about 5 shots to adjust the sights to get that 2" grouping and it seems to be very stable and shooting those groups repeatedly. So I notched it up to a hostage silouhette to pressure myself and shot many holes into the other holes. Anyway, Heres the pics I have of my range adventure of which I shot about 100 rounds through the gun.

How did you get the G2 striker spring off to replace it with the XD spring. I have been wanting to changemy striker spring since I got my G2, and it is fantastic to know the Wolff XD springs are compatible.
there is a youtube video on taking out the striker pin. Its in one of those disassembly videos for 24/7 G2. small little trick to taking off the back plate, then once out you compress the spring which is help in by two keepers like a glock striker spring. I'll try to explain it, After taking off the slide, invert it so your looking at the bottom of it, near the rear in the spring area youll see a black plastic sleeve. Take a small screwdriver and slide the sleeve towards the front of the slide. after sliding it a little ways youll be able to slide the rear back dust cover plate up and off. then you can just slide the striker out the rear spring and all attched, nothing will go flying :) now when you compress the spring rearward two keepers will fall away, and voila your spring will come off the striker.

Congratulations, it sounds like you have found a keeper. Nice shooting by the way!
