My buddy called yesterday and said grab your guns and let's go chootin'. Who am I to argue? I took my Springfield XD Mod2, Citadel Officer 1911, Sig P226, and Taurus 617. Indoor range, 10 yard target.

Springfield XD Mod2 - as usual, it ate everything I fed it and asked for more. The 13 round mag makes it easy to erase the middle of the target but the 9 round mag ain't all that bad either. I shot mainly hollowpoints through this gun and it never had a hiccup. Interesting, because I shot my buddy's Ruger Commander 1911 and my reloads were wanting to nosedive into the feed ramp, just like on my PT1911. I am going to re-visit my OAL and start trying to find loads with a shorter OAL to prevent this from happening.

Citadel Officer 1911 - continues to impress as a shooter. I was using 230 gr. lead RN bullets over Red Dot and it's a fun load to run through a few mags. Nice soft recoil and pretty accurate.

Taurus 617 - I'm finally getting the hang of where to put the front sight on this gun. I was hitting within a 6 inch area on the target, I think I can get that down substantially and get as accurate with this gun as I am with my pistols. And, I ran about 35 full power 357 magnum rounds through the gun, and WOW - I love the fireball. :D

Sig P226 - this is quickly becoming one of my favorite guns to shoot. I can pick this gun up without having fired it in a couple of months and keep my rounds pretty tight. The picture below is using this gun, the spread is about 4 inches and after I get going with this gun, I can reduce that to 2 inches most of the time, if I do my part. I still need to send it in for a cleanup and spring replacement, but the trigger is officially working the way it's supposed to, and it's a pretty nice trigger.

Yea, I am headed out to the range here in just a few myself.
haven't decided what to take but may get the old PT1911 Duo-tone out as it hasn't been shot in a while, been to involved in my CZ and Tangfoglios.
to easy for me to get to use to taking those the way they shoot.
and of course I need to take a 22, maybe a space gun (Neos) for a change.---------
