Range Report -- First time for my Stainless Government Model 45 ACP w/ rail

Summary -- 150 clicks, 150 bangs. Two boxes of Sellier & Bellot 230 Grain Full Metal Jacket and a box of my 200 Grain SWC reloads (I don't remember Winchester 231 smoking so much). It grouped nicely at 7 yards. I think I'll keep it.

Oh, and the kid working inside the range was wearing a surgical mask. Someone told him airborne lead wasn't good for him. When I was a kid we ate paint chips and played bare handed with mercury. And none of us shot up anything either.

Damn auto-correct. Should say Range Report.

Fixed the title for you...good report! Were your handloads done with hardcast lead? I bought a bunch of Mastercast in 230 grain and they smoke like crazy.

Yes, the 200 gr. SWC were hardcast. I just assumed it was the powder. The smoke kind of hung in the air.

Probably the lube on the hardcast projectiles...if I shoot them indoors about one magazine of eight rounds is all I can stand.

AHH, yep would be my guess as well.
when we get a guy/ couple of guys start shooting lead at the rnage (indoors) it almost over comes the exhaust system with smoke, almost ( I said almsot) as bad a black powder --which they do NOT allow to be shot inside the range.
Hell I wonder sometimes what people are thinking, I went to the rage about 3 weeks ago, walked into the range area (separated) by several cement /block walls and steel doors from the gun shop area.
I couldn't hardly see and the smell was quite strong.
seems one of the 4 guys in there decided they were cool and turned off the vent fans and this was them just shooting regular old ammo.
GEEZZZ.
