Note the website who published this article: Crime Prevention Research Center - John Lott's group. It was published in 2014 as that was when Bloomberg's 'Everytown' movement was starting to shake the trees and make noise claiming that GFZs did Not result in more shooting and also when Bloomberg's Shannon Watts 'Moms Demand' was gearing up. It was a quick call to show the data didn't support the antigunners points of view. I thought it was quite informative and those pie graphs speak volumes about the false comfort of GFZs.

Addendum: So, no agenda, per se, except countering false claims in a timely fashion. And, note that the topic of the article is MASS shootings in GUN FREE ZONES.

Note that whenever a mass shooting occurs, the idea that then shooter was attracted to a publicly acknowledged gun-free area is immediately pushed from any discussion by claims that the shooter was mentally unstable, that easy access to guns was a leading cause, and that, of course, if we expanded gun free zones, we'd be somehow safer. In 2017, that still occurs.

The only historically successful gun free zones were those inside a decidedly well-armed, and intrusive, perimeter, with a Quick Reaction Force authorized to use lethal force without warning. Your local Mall seems to fall a bit short of that.

America, especially in areas where crime is prevalent swallowed the calls for ever greater gun control, and ever more restrictions for "security" for decades. In the past twenty years, or a little more, people began to ask themselves, and the politicians, why this method never seemed to help reduce crime. The politicians had no true answers, and ignored the question in all too many cases. The courts made a mockery of "justice" in favor of social engineering that put people with violent records back on the streets while awaiting court dates. The politicians, as is their wont, either ignored the death toll caused by those released, or offered the usual, "well, if YOU didn't have guns" mantra of the incompetent. Gun Free zones were another result of that incompetence.

Look at the previous administration's proclamation that they wouldn't enforce federal gun control laws. "Too many people jailed" if they did. Oddly, it was the violence CAUSED by those "too many people" that crossed all boundaries in the population. The people, in what was more a "well, if you won't, we will" movement, have turned the anti-gunners wishes into dust in many places. After almost 20 years of that, one would think that entire states with "lax gun control" would be "awash in blood", with "Dodge City on every street-corner".

Apparently, the leadership of that foul movement is similarly too incompetent to even consider just how wrong they have been. Of course, as long as people like Bloomberg are willing to throw millions of dollars into the mix, with little regard as to the behavior of their minions, they'll always find people willing to sign on. For their own profit.
