I was glad that my new PT92 ran 200+ rounds threw it without any problems but when i got home to clean it i noticed a manufacture defect in the barrel that could have caused a situation if this was my carry gun. The hole drilled in the barrel for the roll pin that holds the larger solid pin that slides back and forth moving the locking block was off center. The hole was so high and off the the side that the roll pin doesn't even go into the hole and hold the locking block pin in. The locking block pin with the ramped end falls out freely allowing the locking block to come off also. Im not shure if this could happen when assembeled but im not to happy with it. Hopefully taurus will send me a new barrel, locking block, and pin combo in the mail without any questions.

Call Taurus Customer Service and talk to them about the problem. What may happen is that you will have to send in the old parts in to get new parts, as in this case, they are not minor parts. Otherwise, they may want check over your whole Pistol.

The Locking Block Actuating Piston is supposed to be retained the roll pin and allow it to move back and forth, but it should not allow it to come out! If the Roll Pin hole is definitely mis-alligned, a new barrel is certainly called for!

my pt92 the locking block will slide all the way out, there is no problem with the pins though. and it did this before i ever fired it.

i have noticed some nasty marks where the locking block sits under the barrel though, which seem to be getting progressivly worse, but if it becomes a problem i'll just send it in, the rest of the pistol shows little very litle wear, but only about 1k rounds in it so far.

but if the pin is falling out then you definitely have a problem.

To pay shipping and have to wait a week for it to get there and at best a another week for them to ship me a new barrel if they do it immediately would suck. Not nearly as bad as paying $40+ to ship the whole gun back and not have it for who knows how long. I am also concerned about the new barrel having a different serial # on it. Do you think they could make a barrel with the same serial # or with no numbers on it? Maby they could swap it out for a 917cs :D

Guess my PT99 is a much older model made when they didn't place the serial number on the barrel because all it has stamped on it is "PT".
