hay everyone i'm new to Taurus in fact i'm a first time gun owner can someone help . I wanted to know what type of holster works with a pt809

You will be hard pressed to find a decent commercial holster specifically made for the PT 809.

However SIGTAC used to make some for the 800 series. Any holster that says it will fit the 24/7 G2 series should also work as they are nearly identical frames.

I have a Fobus GL4 paddle holster that works for my PT809, OWB of course.

I took my PT809 to several local gun/pawn shops and actually tried several holsters before I decided on that one.

Some of the holsters I had seen recommended online simply did not fit to my satisfaction and when I was looking for a holster for my PT111 G2, I had a couple of holsters of the same brand and model, where one fit and the other did not. So, actually putting the pistol in a holster is the ONLY sure way to find a good fit.

You don't mention which type you want, IWB, OWB etc. If you're new and don't know what types there are just ask! We don't mind newbie questions at all. There's plenty more out there but I've listed a few. And welcome to the forum!!

You don't mention which type you want, IWB, OWB etc. If you're new and don't know what types there are just ask! We don't mind newbie questions at all. The Vedder holster is a good one, I carry my Glock 19 in one.

I like Remora Holsters. And anyone that fits the SD9VE or Glock 19 will fit the 809.

I sometimes carry my 809 in a #11 IWB and it rides great.

I would suggest the IWB holster with the clip on it. It make the Remora stay out more. And gives you the extra piece of mind.

And cheap OWB Holsters from Bulldog will get you going too. They are not the same as a Gallco or Desantis, but almost as good. And at a third of the price.

I know that Clinger Holster makes a great kydex 809 holster.

I have a Blackhawk Serpa CQC holster for the 24/7 and it works excellent for my PT 809. Clinger makes nice holsters also, that's what I use for my PT 111 G2. Good luck finding something you like, lots of good suggestions. Search the threads about the 809 and you'll find more info.

My new PT 809 shots fine. But there is a slight rattle sound if you shake it back and forth. The barrel ramp hits the ramp that loads the round from the magazine. There is a several mm separation between the two and it rattles when shaken. Is that normal. My first 9mm, so I don't have anything to compare with.
