There's been more people killed (domestically) with .22's then just about any other caliber.

If you feel confident in what you carry, go for it and don't look back.

Any suggestions on the ammo i carry for defense or any other info will be appreciated. 2245
In a life or death defensive encounter your gun's reliability is at the top of the list. Pick the ammo that is the most reliable in your particular gun. In a short barrel .22 I'd choose a premium brand loaded with a full metal jacketed (or gilded metal) bullet verses a lead bullet.

JHP ammo in any caliber short barrel handgun is just warm-n-fuzzy wishful thinking . At these velocities it may or may not expand and even if it does, if it doesn't reach and do damage to some vital organ or the central nervious system the bad guy will absorb a "bunch" before results are noticeable.

If a semi-auto (especially small caliber) is chosen for self defense it should be 100% reliable with it's favorite ammo and kept "clean" in between firing range sessions.

Will and Skill wins gun fights. More money should be spent on practice ammo than high speed whiz bang mall ninja gear .
