Just my opinion, but if my PT22 did that it would have gone back to Taurus. Even with cheap after market mags, mine bought used has not failed to load, eject or fire. I am buy bulk pack JHP, and lead 22lr, Thunderbolts, and Remington. I have used CCI standard load, and other brands too.

I have a PT22, that I carry as a bug, when I have a revolver as my primary. It give me 9 shots while I slip a new Stellar Clip in my 905.

If the gun suits you, or you want a sweet to fire cheaply 22 semi auto they are great. Mine was quite accurate when I was shooting it last month.

FOR YOU PT22 LOVERS!!

According to some recent information, the PT22 PT25, and another gun or two are going to be back in the market soon. With a change to Polymar frames. I have not heard, or forgot which other guns might be made in Miami but we probably will know about as soon as the world does.

When they will actually hit the market is what we all sit and pray over (or cuss depending on whether your waiting for a certain model).

I've had a Beretta .22 since they first came out. It never jammed once and I used a lot of cheap ammo. Now my "processing" period of 2 months is about over down here and I will pick up a PT-22 for a BUG next week. It is made in Brazil, as is my PT58-HC+. Ammo choices are limited. High Velocity Remington HP, and Aguilla were my only choices a few weeks ago. Remington was about $16 per box of 50, Aguilla about $13. They did have some Remington sub-sonic. I'll have to get a box of that just to see what it does. I shot a lot of Aguilla .22 in Mexico when I worked there, in a High Standard & a Model 41 Smith. They usually worked. Most of the time. Ammo is too expensive here to just buy cheap and pray it works. From what I have read on this thread it looks like the PT-22 needs a higher velocity round to operate all the time. I'll post how it all comes out.

One thing you might like or not. The PT22 and PT25 are made in Miami FL. Not Brazil! There is going to be a change is both models this year, and an additional gun or two made in Miami. This has to do with the import laws and the # of import points that a gun has to have to be imported.

I have a Miami made PT22 and love it. I hope they make the 709 in the US, that would be a plus to me.

We know for sure, they make the PT25. However, it has been reported that they are going to make some models of the smaller guns in Miami. I do not know if this is true or not. Only time will tell.

Apparently some of the smaller guns, do not have the required import points to come into the US, but can be manufactured here. I do not know how true this is, but this is what I heard several places in the last year.
