Went through 200 rounds of CCI Blazer Brass 230gr FMJ's - for a total of 650 rounds so far, no problems.
Yesterday was the first time shooting with my new Cocobolo checkered grips from woodgrips.com. These are standard thickness 1911 wood grips. The factory Taurus grips are thinner. But these wood grips look so much nicer, and I am getting use to the extra thickness of the grips.

I really love my PT1911 especially with the new cocobolo wood grips. I go through withdrawls If I don't at least hold her every day - when I open my safe, I don't even notice my other guns :-[ even my Taurus 24/7 Pro 9mm.

I did use my dremel to fit the new grips just perfect with the thumb safeties.

Those are nice grips. My favorite and I use something much like them for my PT1911

Just after the purchase of the Pt 1911 I scoured Ebay and picked up some beautiful walnut grips for $18 and a set of nitesiters. Very pleased. Now I need to round up some pennies to purchase a good leather holster.
