Finally got to the range today with my PT111. Like I read shot low left (quite a bit, glad I had big paper). Happen to meet friends at the range. (great to have friends!) They suggested I was holding on too tight. I relaxed, still low left. Then they tried. Bam! Dead on! They said relax even more. I did. Bam! Dead on! I should have remembered this lesson from years ago shooting my Ruger Redhawk 44 Magnum the first time. I tried to hold it down on target. It bruised my hand so bad I couldn't shoot for 2 weeks! Let tools do the work. I am larger than "the average bear" and think muscling is the way to go. As I grow older I am slowly catching on. Moral of the story, relax, and hang with friends!

Excellent!....its not "gun control" its controlling your gun and relaxing..everytime I shoot I actually have a few fly right and low because I hold too tight and dont tap the trigger til I remember again.what I have been doing before I go out lately is chamber a snap cap and put a nickel down by the front sight and dry fire a bunch till the nickel wont fall off anymore....works for me.....

What I got out of your story: Keep your friends close and your ammo closer.

I shoot low and left and believe I'll try that little trick also, thanks for the advice, I just figured I was anticipating recoil

Coins and a set of snap caps can do wonders for controlling problems in your grip and trigger pull. I've worked my way up to 3 dimes now with my 945 and not moving them after 9 pulls, which would be a full mag and one in the chamber. I can do 4 nickels as I think the weight of them keeps them down on the slide.
