So the wife and I went to the range to take in some practice. I had my Taurus 1911 9mm and she had her Taurus PT111 Millennium 9mm. After about 100 ends she noticed a crack in the gun above the trigger guard. Has anyone had a issues such as this and what did you do to get it repaired?
Assuming it really is a PT111 Millennium, those were under a recall settlement agreement. Contact Taurus and they will exchange it for a new gun (likely a PT111 Millennium Pro G2c).

Since it is a new gun (different serial number) Taurus will have to ship it to an FFL and you'll be responsible for any transfer fee. Hopefully you can convince Taurus to pay your shipping outbound, and for the transfer fee as well.

To clarify, there is no repair of this gun, at least through Taurus. If you send it back in, they will eventually send you a replacement gun, either a G2C or G2S, depending on which way the wind is blowing. If you opt to do that, I would call them ahead of time, get an RMA, and make sure that they understand that you are expecting the new gun.

I have a PT145 that is in the same boat, if anything ever happens to it. Luckily, I replaced the firing pin assembly on this gun back in 2010 or so, and I've not had any issues with it since then.

That is great news thank you all for the reply. I contacted Taurus this morning and since it is my wife’s gun wouldn’t talk to me. Once she gets home I will have her contact Taurus to initiate the process. I will keep this link updated once I get a status.
Great news. Thanks for updating us on your adventure. All too many threads get started with no resolution and it is good to know what happens along the way. Taurus has had a reputation for slow customer service, but recent reports have been much better. Hopefully you will experience the latter and not the former.

So is your millennium a G2? As in the PT111 millennium G2. The millennium pistols before that model (which came out in 2013) won’t be fixed or returned if you send it to Taurus. And why again wouldn’t Taurus speak with you? Sounds odd. You and your wife own firearms as a married couple.

Most likely, your PT111 was a generation one Milpro and did not have a rail meaning it was the original PT111.

The first generation PT145 was also rail less and prone to frame cracking. The second gen PT145's introduced the rail, which probably gave more strength to the frame as there were no cracking frames in the 2nd gens.

If your PT111 did have a rail and cracked, it may have had too steady a diet of +P ammo.

Quite possible to have had hot rounds. I have many reloads that a friend gave me so I was sure that was the cause. I ran the through my Sig P226 with no problems but that puns is all metal and not much resin.

Well there was the original version from the late 90’s. The PT111 Millennium. A 10 round mag with a DAO trigger. Then that was redesigned and turned into the 12 round mag version with the word PRO on some models. Then in 2013 the PT111 millennium G2 came out. It since has morphed into the G2c.

So update on the Taurus. I do have the original version of the PT111 Millennium Pro.This version has been recalled for similar issues with its integrity. I was given an RNA to send the cracked pistol back and that they would issue me an updated version. Now I have to find a ffl to help me out.

So if you have the Millennium PRO which is basically the second version of the pt111 millennium you already know that Taurus will not fix or return it to you. I figure they are replacing it with a new G2c 9mm. Keep your magazines from your Millennium PRO. They will work in your new G2c. The 12 round pro magazines are the same as newer ones. It’s the origin pt111 millennium 10 round magazines that are of a different spec.
