Questin for PT 917 owners;

What are the Taurus procuct and UPC numbers of the PT917 (as says on the factory box)? I'm guessing C and CS will have a different numbers...

thanks

PS: Currently they are not availabe in here in Canada and I'm trying to lobby Taurus destributor loby to bring them in... :) (they didn't even know about the gun when I asked...). In Taurus cataloge there seem to be a few mistakes (IIRC it says 917 is a .40... :-\) so I'm not sure I should go by what it says there...

Thanks Robby...Did you got that info from Taurus website?

Can anyone who owns pt917 SS confirm the UPC#? as there seem to be a few mistakes in the info above (for the first two models it says the frame size is larger, but on the last one it says medium. Also the OAL is listed a 8.5in which can't be true since that is the OAL of a full size 92. Also barrel is actually a little longer -4.3")

God I wish these people would learn to make corrections when they copy paste and update a site. If you try to insert, you can screw up everything. I guess i better see what is in the 2008 cataloge

I have a 917 CS which is nothing more than a stainless PT 92 with a shorter barrel. Its not a medium frame gun as it uses the same frame as the PT92. Uses the same mags as my PT 92. I have only seen a few of these guns here in Orlando, and even fewer on internet sites. When I bought mine, they were having a closeout sale at the store I purchased from because the gun was listed by Taurus as being discontinued. The owner of the Store had no idea it was actually a new model, nor did I. The gun appears in the 2007 Catalog as "discontinued". I owned a PT 92C with a thirteen round mag back in the 90's so I jumped on the 917CS as soon as I saw it. It appears in the 2008 Taurus Catalog as being available, so it would appear that Taurus has simply not gotten their distribution of this gun up to speed yet.
As a Taurus owner, I have grown accustomed to learning to have a great deal of patience. You have to remember that Taurus has introduced more models of handguns in the last ten years than just about any other company, and like any large company......at times the right hand has no idea what the left is doing.

Here is what the 2008 catalog gives for the 917. Don't know if it helps, but, it shows them all being a 40. But in the main pages, it shows 92,99, 917 as 9mm only.
917B upc 7-25327-60308-5
917ss upc 7-25327-60307-8
917DT upc 7-25327-60536-2
