Greetings PT-145 owners,
I have owned my gen 3 PT-145 since May 08. It had to make a trip back to the mother ship once due to a warped slide. Since then the only other issue I have had is the mag release. I have about 500 rounds through it So far. I have a couple of wear questions.

As you can see in the photos there is quite a lot of scoring along the top of the chamber block. The scoring is being caused by the underside of the slide. I thought of polishing both of these area to minimize the scoring but then wondered if anyone else sees this on their PT’s?

The second question is there the where on the slide where the barrel chamber and slide lock up. Is this normal wear?

Thank you in advance for any advice.
Sorry for the picture jumble. It keeps shuffling them after I post.

Mine has some of the same wear as yours. I can't tell if yours is deep scoring but it doesn't look like it. Just "rubbing" on the polished area. May be a factor with subcompacts due to the short cycling. It doesn't show as bad on my 24/7s.

All semiautos show wear from their "reciprocating" parts, so work marks are nothing to fret about.

Some folks feel polishing is only cosmetic, but it does help with reliability.

I use "Mother's Mag Polish" on the feed ramp and top of the barrel above the chamber of all my Millennium Pro models.

I quit the official "round count" when PT-145 surpassed the 2,000 round mark over a year ago. It's still 100% reliable and as accurate as the day I bought it.

Thanks for the replies folks. That was going to be my next question, (if the wear appeared normal). Would polishing the barrel above the chamber and the under portion of the slide where wearing already shows reduce or eliminate the scoring?

I agree, (although I have never had any feed issues) that polishing the barrel would reduce friction. I just think it's unsightly.

Looks like my 24/7 9mm. Around 3000 rounds through it.
Normal wear AFAIK.
The slide rails on the frame on mine are also showing wear, the bluing is gone and they are getting shiny.

I would have to check mine specifically for the wear spots you are seeing, and it's in the car waiting for my return from the job. But I did have it apart cleaning last week along with my 2nd 145 and can't say I noticed anything I thought was abnormal. Mine has about 1800 rounds through it and seems to be holding up quite well.

Mine, like gwk's, also has the wear marks on the slide rails from sliding back and forth, and as much as I'd like them to not be there I'm sure it's normal and all I can do is try to keep them lubed as well as I can.

I shall try to remember to check mine for you this evening, maybe even get a picture or two to compare.
