Fired 2 #8 2 1/2” in my poly public defender and casing rim blew out locking up cylinder sending debris into my thumbs. Anyone else have this happen?

Crap ammo, get rid of any remaining you have. The primer cup is so swollen, I am surprised you could open the cylinder. I would say poor reload, really old or poor factory hull brass crimp. Either way be glad your poly defender still works.

For got to include ammo is fiocchi VIP #8 1/2oz shot. Not reloads

You should contact the manufacturer. Looks like an ammo failure to me.

Today I shot 2 different Winchester high brass #8 (AAA and hunt load) and a winchester 45LC round nose lead; functioned as it should!!
