So, it took two weeks longer than it should have - ordered it 3 weeks ago - but it's here.

Went to my favorite LGS and picked it up this afternoon .

Love it, feels great, not too heavy, not too light. Wouldn't hurt the grip to be about 1/8th or 3/16th thicker side to side, but still comfortable.
But I say this realizing I have big gargantuan hands.

So anyways, I wanted to mention something as a side note.

I ordered the 65 at the same time I ordered my 809, which was three weeks ago. Around that time, they were integrating the computer from their newest location into the old one from their main location. You know how it is....glitches happen, bug pop up and bite you in the back side.
Somehow, the computer system that sends you an email when your item is checked in decided not to end me ( and a bunch of other customers) an e-mail letting me know it was in.

This same computer glitch also decided not to order my 65.

I called and found out the gun was in last Sat and at that time, they ordered the 65.

Today, the general manager called me to let me know it was in.

Picked it up , filled out the paper work and was gone in no time. He apologized at least 7 or 8 times.

Here's how i look at it: It's not a big deal a glitch happened. Everybody makes mistakes some time. We all screw up or forget something. Sometimes it's out of our control.

What makes a difference is what the business does about it afterward.

That is still my favorite gun shop.

I spray painted it with grill paint!

No, I'm just kiding. I don't know- the two choices were blued or matt stainless and I chose blued. Looks more like a ceracoat to me.

That's a nice 65.....I also know how gliches happen ..I ordered some stuff from Classic Firearms from Monroe NC ... full 3 hrs from me...they still haven't seen my payment.......I have to wait 60 days to get my money from the PO..

I'm going to the Taurus revolver area and post something about my experience with the 65

Scoutfish;

Nice looking Model 65 you have. The finish looks like a matt-blue in the photo. Is that a 'new' 65? Either way you got a 'real' six-gun! Thanks for showing.
