Of those who have shot/owned both, with is the better gun a Model 945 or the 1911. I do like the style of the 92 series. The DA/SA really appeals to me as being fast to get into action even if you are not carrying cocked & locked.
To each his own. The 1911 has a certain "mystic" about it that can't be matched. For most others, you make your own lists of what you would really like and find the pistol. The same is true about the striker fired vs. hammer. You get a fabulous variety.
Thanks for the info. I'm due to pick up the PT 1911 I've got in lay-a-way by the middle of January, but found both the 945 and compact 9mm version at my main used gun dealer, so may put one of them on if they still have them. Probably will go with the 9 since I don't have any that are near duty size. Both were SS. Can't have too many guns anyway.
