Found it on Gun Broker and received it on Fri. after the background check was delayed for some reason. Today we made it to the range and the wife is very happy with her new gun. Up until now she hadn't shot anything bigger than the 9mm. But it is her gun so she took the first shots. She was holding on target for a good bit before she squeezed off that first one. She did fire 40 rounds thru it before we had to go. BTW the range was packed to day and we had to share a lane. So neither of us got to fire as much as we'd like.

So now she has 2 Springfield XD Mod2. Her original 4.0 9mm Two Tone and now the 45acp in FDE trim. Her Christmas present range bag is getting heavy.

Congrats on the new gun ! I have one too and it's my favorite concealed carry gun. My buddy has one in 9mm and we honestly can't tell the difference in recoil between the two guns. All things being equal, I love the capacity for a 45acp with 9 rounds and 13 rounds. And, the trigger is an absolute dream. Best trigger I have in my house.

I am happy with the service we've gotten from the Springfield's. Wife wanted a second gun and at first she was looking at the S&W SD9VE and I asked her why that one. Just because she liked the way it looked and felt in her hand. So I suggested that she try something else and she agreed. After looking awhile I convinced her to try a 45acp and she decided that because she already had an XD a larger caliber one would be an easier adjustment.

After we got home she even helped me sort brass!

I need to order a couple more 9 round mags for concealed carry. Right now I carry the 13 round mag in my pocket and it works fine but I would like two spare 9 round mags and a good mag holster.

This one is the 4" service model and came with 3 13round mag's. Though unlike the 9mm this didn't come with the Essentials package with the holster, mag holster, speed loader or the extra colored rods for the front sight. Also the grip handle is a bit larger as are the 45 mag's.

Now I cannot wait to try loading for it.

I would think that carrying with the 9 round mag inserted would present a smaller grip profile thus much less change for printing. Keeping the 13 round mags for reloads would allow for larger capacity backups if things go South.

I'm all about options, and I sure wouldn't mind having a spare 13 round mag as well.

I did really mean to get a couple of pictures of it at the range in action but it got so busy and crowded that I didn't even get to shoot the targets I had marked for the test rounds we took with.

This is one gun on my radar, have never seen on in person. I'm not in the market right now, however I a thinking if I decide to replace my PT-145 this may be the gun to do it.

That's exactly what I did. It's comparable in size, in capacity, and dang it's a good shooter.

Was just looking over her targets form the weekend and her first shots. Dang, 2 targets and all hits within a 9" wide silhouette. Id have to think that is pretty good with a new gun and a caliber larger than she's ever shot. See how she does with it after a couple trips. Maybe she will even let me try it!

Congrats to the Mrs. on her new pistol! I have shot a little with the 9mm and it's a very nice pistol.
She now has both. XD9mm in two tone Black and SS and the XD45acp in two tone XDE with black slide. Both are 4" models with full length grips..
