Welcome aboard, Berliner70. I'm from Las Vegas.
I think either the "Firing Line", or the "Taurus Product Problems" would be good places to post for your replacement problems.
I'm kinda surprised that they are only giving you a 9mm for your .40 cal, especially since they make a PT-140 G2, which is the PT-111 G2 in .40 cal.
Am I wrong about this?
Anyway, I carry the PT-111 G2, and I think it's a great weapon. Less lethal than the .40? Maybe a little tiny bit, but the 9mm is still a powerful weapon. And it's become so common that the cost of 9mm ammo is much less than anything other than a .22LR.
The features I like about the PT-111 are:
1. Large capacity for a compact gun (12+1).
2. Second-strike ability.
3. Has a small rail for a light or laser.
4. Breaks down like a Glock.
5. Has a loaded chamber indicator that can be felt in the dark.
6. Has a clean crisp manual safety that is easy to use, but not too flimsy.
In fact, the only thing I would add to the PT-111 if I were the designer is a decocker.
