Just got back from Fin-Feather-Fur with a G2.
Funny, I had bought a 111 mil pro in 2009 and liked it . Easy to handle, easy to carry, but for some reason I recently thought about selling it. I had picked up a Walther PPQ and figured I didn't need both 9mm's.

Nobody wanted to buy it for $300.00. It has heinie night sights and a total of 7 magazines, 2 of which are 17 round 24/7 mags with spacers.

Then I saw the ad for the G2. So now I don't have two 9mm's anymore...I have 3.
No range report, I'll be spending the next hour or so removing the packing grease(and loving every minute).

To end, the G2 was $359.99, the exact price I paid in 2009 for the MilPro. I'm happy.

Question for ya Denny......since you have both the old and the new Pt111's. Do you think the size is about the same between the two so that the same fitted holster would work with the new G2? I got mine last week, but have been having a hard time finding any CCW fitted paddle holsters for the new style. I like the style of the Fobus SP11B, but not sure if it will fit? Thanks for any input! Joe

Hi Joe. I don't have any Fobus holsters so I can't give you an accurate answer to this. The G2 fits my leather holsters fine.
About the Fobus...Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems the gripping point is based on the trigger guard. The G2 trigger guard is 5/16" shorter than on my 2009 mil pro. This happens because of the rail on the G2.

I wish I could have been more help.

I hope to have an answer before today is over. Have some errands to run and taking a SP11B and one of my fitted leather holsters with me - if I can find a MilPro G2 in stock somehwere, I'll see if they fit properly and report back. I'm thinking it may be a problem with the SP11B due to the ridge in front of the G1 guard. The difference in trigger guard lenth (5/16" mentioned) would allow the Pt G2 to go further into Fobus and appears past the molded ridge which G1 rest against when nested.

Tough question. These are only my opinions. I have the MilPro and the MillenniumG2.
Looking at them, the G2 seems a little more stylish, what with the scalloped slide and the trigger safety. I don't really like the gap between the back of the safety and the front of the trigger. Just something to keep in mind when cleaning.
The rail on the G2 is nice for a small laser or light.

As I stated in another post, the MilPro seems much sturdier. I personally like the controls better on this model, and also the steel sights, for me, are a plus. The magazine release sits a little more flush on this than the G2.

The grip on the G2 has textured panels that are a plus, although I add a Hogue JR. Handall, so for me it isn't a factor.

As mentioned above, the controls on the MilPro are larger and they are contoured in a way to make then smoother.

Looking at what I've just written, I guess I like the MilPro better. It may just be that it has sentimental value and I'm very used to it.(My son bought it for me for Fathers Day a few years ago.)
I'm obviously not a gun reviewer, but these are my thoughts. YMMV.
