Just ordered my four inch 357 Taurus Tracker. Saw it i the gun shop and had to have it! There's such a lot of static about Taurus quality on line that I'm gonna really look it over when it comes in. Are the horror stories something to worry about?
Welcome to TaurusArmed. I'm from South Carolina. I own 3 Taurus weapons, 2 revolvers, 1 semi-auto. I have had nothing but great things from all three. Guns are like cars somtimes you get a lemon. If I had to say one way the other I'll bet you won't have a horror story, with your Taurus, congratulations on your purchase.
Welcome to the forums.
If your coming in from either THR or TFL gun forums it is to be expected that the mall ninjas, trolls, bashers, and others who have had no actual Taurus experience to trash Taurus.
You might recognize staff and members from here as being over at THR and TFL, if you frequent them, though the user names may be different.
That's not to say Taurus doesn't have the occasional get past inspection gun. They do. So do all the other gun makers. If one looks at the track record onthe internet and read the gun periodicals it becomes apparent all the companies have their troubles.
S&W,Ruger, and even the long gun folks have their share of troubles. Can bring lots of examples just from the internet itself. Some real. And a lot imagined.
The "story" below is in the actual .357 Tracker owners words themselves.
Hi, folks! Thanks for all of the welcomes! I live in Southern California and the gun shop tells me my Tracker will be here tomorrow. I can't get for two weeks though - I just bought a Bersa 380 and I have to wait thirty days. I'm not really worried about Taurus quality - I was just surprised at the quantity of complaints on other boards. I'll be sure to post once I get to the range, and I'll mosey on over to th revolver forum now...
Welcome to the forum, glad to have you with us. Many of us here have Trackers and enjoy them thoroughly. Mine is a .357 w/ a 6" tube and never have had any trouble with it whatsoever. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
Went to the range today and the Tracker 357 performed flawlessly. After some sighting adjustment it was right on at 7 yards and I hit five out of seven at 35 yard metal targets. It also cleaned up fine with Break Free CLP - some folks were complaining about the difficulty of cleaning the ports, but I had no problem. I fired 100 rounds of wad cutter and seven rounds of 357 Mag without a glitch.
