Hi Folks, I'm newly registered here and have been enjoying this forum
as a reader.

First off, I'd like to say that I'm a new 24/7 Pro convert.
I've had 1911s for a couple decades then switching to the XD.
After handling the 24/7 9mm and making the purchase, I'm converted.
IMO, it's the best handgun value out there.
I no longer own the 1911s or XD and am saving up for the next 24/7.

I've looked thru the archives and don't see the answer I'm looking for.
Please accept my apology if the answer is there and I overlooked it.

Does anyone here use 9mm +P?
The Taurus website says it's OK but the manual warns against damage.
I purchased some +P awhile back (HST 124 gr, 1200 fps) for self defense use.
The manual does give a 1225 fps max.

I think I asked some of those questions too for my PT111. The answer, was just what the manual says. Any sammi spec +P, that does not exceed the 1225 fps is good to use. Of course, I heard also, not good to make that the steady diet.

Thanks, I'm still curious why the website states
it's OK but the manual cautions against it.

Several people here made calls to Tauri!!
Apparently, any gun produced since 2005 is +P rated, just do not exceed the recommended pressures, or use Sammi spec +P.

The manuals apparently are covering a legal thing or were not updated. there are many +P rounds out there that exceed Sammi spec, particularly NATO rounds, and Buffalo Bore of course there are others but those names come to mind from earlier threads.

Thanks Robby,
I couldn't get past the operator when I called them.
She said no on the +P in '07

Thanks.

Justus, if you take a look in the Taurus Tactical Catalog '07, on page 3 it says:

+P RATED FOR DUTY USE®
All Taurus handguns are engineered to accept a steady
diet of factory-new Plus-P (+P) ammunition built to
SAAMI specifications. This includes the Ultra-Lite
hammer forged aluminum alloys, Titanium, blue steel
and stainless steel models. Rest assured, your Taurus
will be ready, especially when you’re counting on it.

Here's the link to the catalog:

yep, thanks VegasGuy I saw that.

The manual cautions against +P and gives a max of 1225 fps with 9mm.
I believe some CorBon is up around 1500 fps.
It would be difficult to imagine a manufacturer building a modern
firearm that wouldn't stand up to current production ammo.
I think Robby may have explained it best.
