51 and bought my first handgun in my life this spring. Went with a PT-845 with a blue slide.

A little big for CCW so have my eye out for a PT-111 G2.

I have less than 50 rounds through the 845 a noticed something. I'm not sure if my 845 was like this out of the box or what.

What concerns me is I have stripped it and cleaned when I first got it (new) and 2 other times. I noticed when I reinstall the slide, there is a very slight crack between the top of the polymer frame and the bottom of the slide. NOT cracked as in broken but not flush. I can take my finger and thumb and squeeze from the picitenny rail and the front sight and get some movement.

The steel guides seem to be molded into the polymer lower and the slide rails are milled right into the slide.

I didn't really noticed it until yesterday. Is that normal to have that amount of play between those 2 parts?

My first semiauto so sorry for the question.

Thanks for any responses.

Welcome from the Northwoods of MN. all semi-auto pistols will have a certain amount of clearance thus some movement. I do not own a PT-845 though so cannot say how much clearance you should have.

(The crack looks okay to me but I'm by no means an expert.)

Welcome from East Texas to the best gun forum on the internet.

I don't have an 800 series gun, but based on your picture I would not worry about it.
