The G3C is a little "touchy" with SD ammo at least until it's well broken in. Hollow points tend to stick and hang up on the feed ramp. Even from brand new a good thorough cleaning and lube is in order as well. You may want to look through some of the threads on here noting "issues" with the "G" series not going into battery with SD ammo

Try either Critical Defense or Sig Elite if you can find them. Never had a hang up with either. Didn't try them until I had 200 rounds through it so I can't speak to hang ups when brand spanking new.

Some here have written that steel case ammo is ok except that it's hard on the extractor.

For reals? Your reasoning? I think I can guess, but I'd like to hear it from you.
I started that practice from a suggestion from a guy
I met at a range … when I owned a new Kahr CW9
that was a bit stubborn…

reasoning .. new pistols have tight recoil springs….
+P ammo seem to manipulate the slide with a bit more authority…

Yup. About what I was thinking. Makes sense. Thanks for the reply.

Mine seems to run anything I have decided to put through it, including some steel cased, and even more aluminum cased ammo.

I don't like to run much steel cased ammo through any of my pistols, and try to keep it at a minimum.

My G3C shoots the CCI® BLAZER® aluminum case 115gr just fine, with no hiccups of any kind.
