New G2

Very nice. Be sure to give it a good cleaning.

I recently received my new FDE G2C also.Love it so far. the only thing I found so far that needed attention, was a little bur on the bottom of the slide that would of scratched the top rear section of the barrel. I went ahead and removed it, smoothed the area, then went ahead and smoothed and polished the barrel. Used 400, then 600 wet/dry sand paper, then Mothers Wheel Polish. Looks Great now.

I like mine a lot! Still need to get out and run the Sig P226 mags through it to assure myself of the carrying of those hi cap mags.

Ok I just bought the G2C. Now Academy is selling the G2C all black or the PT111 two tone. I thought these were the same. What is the difference , if any? Besides color.

I believe they are basically the same accept the infamous Taurus lock on the slide and the pop round round indicator has been removed. I can live with either one!

Glad to hear that someone is getting their guns replaced.

I`ll keep my 45 I got to use a 9mm 20 years ago (Storm) Not as impressed with the failure to stop or keep stopped a combatant. Now I know of the leaps and bounds 9mm ammo has made since. the 45 ammo with exception of projectile design has not NEEDED a change since 1911.

The G2c did get rid of the TSS lock system, but still has the loaded chamber indicator.

I watched a YouTube video comparing the two guns. The G2C has no lock, has more aggressive texturing on the grip, and a different logo. It’s slide is matte finished to reduce the reflectivity. The review was done by ‘the firearm guy’ who has many videos online, and he seems to know what he is talking about. He disagrees with some who say the gun has a better trigger than the G2. He says they are the same except the G2C has a better constructed triggger safety.

Looks like the trigger safety blades are still breaking on the G2's.

Yes, loaded chamber indicator is still there. Also I've seen claim that the old trigger safety was hollow and the new one is solid. I have a hard time believing anything that small in diameter could be hollow.

Well the "Safety Trigger" just SUCKS yes I get the gist behind it the dreaded ID-10Ts just go around Darwining themselves or friends. Lets just negate the first rule of gun safety and blame the Manufactures of my stupidity. Never has worked for me I choose therefore I am responsible.

One year warranty on the G2C, lifetime on the G2. A side effect of them getting taken to the cleaners from the law suit I presume.
