Hello fellow Taurus owners!. First post here but have been lurking a while. I have a small collection of Taurus's and have been pleased with all of them...Model 66, PT111, PT709 and now a model 731 32 H&R magnum 2". Just got the 731 yesterday and have a question about the single action trigger pull. In double action it seems very heavy....maybe 15 lbs which is fine with me. But in single action the trigger is pulled within maybe a 1/16th of an inch from the back and has, I would guess under a 1/2 lb pressure to fire and hardly any creep. Darn near a hair trigger. Is this normal?. I bought it new from Bud's but just wondering if indeed it has been messed with. Not really complaining, just curious if my SA pull is per factory specs. My .357 model 66 is not like this but they are 2 different animals. This is my first snub nose and would like to hear any input on this model 731. Thanks

Thanks for all the greetings I received! Great to be here with fellow Taurus owners. Whodog....good to hear. I actually love the sa trigger on my 731. Only shot a few rounds with it so far with 32 S&W longs. I have some Federal magnums on order though. With the hard DA and the light SA trigger, it wil be a good backup or even primary carry when I finally get the H&R magnums. Wouldn't want to be wearing gloves when in SA though...may get a premature bang :)

Mine looked like the one in the picture too. Full of grease on the back and burn marks on the front (all cylinders). Not sure how many rounds Taurus shoots to test their revolvers but mine looked like quite a few rounds were shot. Kind of wondered if it was a refurbished gun. I believe the 32 H&R magnum will shoot 32 acp, 32 S&w, 32 S&W long and 32 H&R magnum......all except the .327 Federal. From what I have read, the 32 acp and 32 S&W (short) tend to gunk up the cylinders fast and have problems extracting.

NSWB, mine didn't have that ring when I first got it. I believe it's fairly normal wear but shouldn't be on a new gun. If yours has that ring when you got it then I am wondering if it was indeed sold as a new refurb. Got mind a Buds and noticed others commenting on them being dirty etc. The description says "factory new" though.
