My Search For the Ultimate Concealed Carry Pistol is Over (For Now)

931 Views 5 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Smokewagon
Through the years I have searched (purchased) for the ultimate (for me) concealed carry pistol. 9mm caliber was my choice.

Taurus 709 - Fine CCW.
Ruger LC-9 - Another good one
Kel-Tec P-11 - I don't care for the trigger pull.
Glock 26 - Fine gun, a little thicker that the above CCWs, getting tired of Glock trigger.
Kahr CW 9 - Fine CCW.

For the last year I have carried the S&W Shield 9mm. It has been reliable from the get-go, accurate, manageable recoil, and priced right.

Subject to change for the next best model. :D

The shield is an excellent choice.

I must agree, I have the .45 ACP flavor on my hip right now. I sacrifice only one round versus the 9mm and support that with two spare mags.

For 9mm however it's very hard to beat the PT 111 G2 for similar size and 12 +1 capacity.

Gotta love the shield. Accurate and reliable. Have been carrying mine now for a few years.

Going on four years carrying my Shield 40. Not looking for a replacement. I like it that much.
